How it works
Warm-up
We'll begin with a 5 minute warm-up by marching on the spot, swinging our arms, and warming up our shoulders, our neck, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles to some great music.
Cardio & Cool Down
We move on to 20 minutes of cardio. These are structured moves, but they will feel like dancing. We will move to our favorite songs, and before you know it, we will be cooling down. During the 5 minute cool down, we do slow box patterns and keep our arms below our shoulders. Your body will become ready for the next section of our workout.
Strengthening
In this 20 minute section, we will do squats, floor planks, heel raises, toe raises, and use physio bands to perform push and pull exercises. We will get to all those major muscle groups.
Balance & Stretching
Balance exercises include single leg stance, clockface toe touch, sit and reach, and complex stepping patterns.
All stretching exercises will be bone-safe. We will stretch out our trunk, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, leaving you feeling invigorated and limber.
What you'll need:
Please bring a water bottle, wear closed toe athletic shoes, and a mat to stretch on. Wear comfortable clothes you can move around in.
How strenous is this class?
Strong & Fit 50+ is the only class I offer with a cardio component. So, while you can expect to work up a sweat, remember this is YOUR workout. Clear instructions and demonstrations will be provided to increase or decrease the intensity, to ensure this is enjoyable and safe for everyone.
